Why take a medical quiz

Working in the medical field can be a rewarding experience, but it also comes with its own set of risks. One of the most serious risks is exposure to bloodborne pathogens. These pathogens can cause life-threatening infections, so it’s critical that workers receive proper training in order to protect themselves and others in the workplace. There are a number of bloodborne pathogens that can affect workers, including the hepatitis B virus, the hepatitis C virus, and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). These viruses can be spread through contact with blood or other body fluids from an infected person. A person can become infected with a bloodborne pathogen during tattooing, body piercing, or when sharing needles, razors or other sharp instruments with someone who has a bloodborne pathogen. There is currently no vaccine to prevent HBV infection, but there is a vaccine to prevent hepatitis B disease. There is also a vaccine to prevent HIV infection. That’s why it’s so important for workers in the medical field to receive regular bloodborne pathogens training.
