Product Champion /QA Tester

Full time

Sydney

We have a “Quality is Culture” attitude when it comes to testing. We’re all about creating a culture and processes that supports quality from the very beginning of development, not just catching bugs retrospectively.

We are now on the hunt for a Product Champion to join our QA team in Sydney. This person will work closely with our Lead QA Analyst and engineering teams, to do manual testing and make sure every release runs smoothly and is bug-free.

This role gives you a huge advantage in getting a comprehensive understanding of our integrated product. This role is also a great stepping stone into other areas of the business such as engineering, our product or customer teams.

What your role looks like:

  • You will follow the test strategies, test plans, and test scripts for each software release, ensuring that all acceptance criteria are met.
  • Perform user testing and present the results to the team. When acceptance criteria are not met, you need to clearly articulate why, writing cohesively and sending tickets back to developers so that they can fix the bugs.
  • As you build your product knowledge you will get involved in early stage user stories to verify requirements laid out
  • Inform the engineering team how well areas of functionality are covered from a manual test perspective. Re-assess areas that are lacking tests and raise them.
  • Follow the AGILE and SCRUM process - working closely with all our cross functional engineering teams
  • Use systems such as Testrail, Jira and Postman

About you:

  • You are obsessed with understanding what “It looks like it works” means
  • You have a strong problem solving mindset and you genuinely want to break the system - not in a malicious way - in a way that you thoroughly test all the elements to make sure you have full coverage
  • You are highly curious about the product and what happens ‘behind the scenes’.
  • You care about heuristics and human behaviour. You obsess over how our users are expected to behave when interacting with our application and web product.
  • You are meticulous! You leave no stone unturned and you are methodical in your approach to testing.
  • Have worked in AGILE and SCRUM methodologies
