An Introduction to Doing Well
In earlier courses, you learned about how Evolution Wellness views 'wellness', the Evolution Wellness Index, and what it means to be well.
is about achieving optimum physical health through physical activity and sleep.
is about achieving a healthy, balanced diet with the right amounts of the right foods and adequate hydration.
is about building mental resilience through stress management, optimism, positive thinking and personal growth.
is about finding purpose and self-actualisation through goal setting and constant self learning.
is about achieving a sense of connection with society and the world through meaningful societal ties.
Doing Well is all about cultivating a sense of purpose - your 'why'.
** Builds resilience** Having a personal sense of purpose guides you and sustains you through set backs and challenges.
Makes you feel alive Purpose is the reason you get out of bed every morning. It motivates you, increases focus and ignites passion.
Helps you live better and longer Research shows that people with higher sense of purpose are not only happier, but at lower risk of developing conditions such as coronary artery disease, strokes, heart attacks and Alzheimers.
** Is unique to you** Your purpose is as unique to you as your fingerprint based on your individual talent, personal experiences, skillset and interests.
It's a journey It's about what's important to you, what kind of person you want to be, and taking steps to become that person. This can change throughout your lifetime.
Success and Fulfilment comes from...

Setting and achieving meaningful goals
Your goal should be SPECIFIC. When drafting your goal, ask yourself: What do I want to accomplish? Why is this goal important?
Your goal should be MEASURABLE, so you know when you will have achieved it. This helps you to stay focused, allows you to track progress and meet deadlines. Ask yourself: How much/many? How will I know when it is accomplished?
Your goal also needs to be ACHIEVABLE to be successful. In other words, it should stretch your abilities but still remain possible. Ask yourself: How realistic is the goal, based on other constraints, such as time?
This step is about ensuring that your goal is RELEVANT and matters to you. Ask yourself: Does this seem worthwhile? Does this match my other efforts/needs?
Finally, every goal needs to be TIME-BOUND, so that you have a deadline to focus on. This helps to prevent everyday tasks from taking priority over your longer-term goals. Ask yourself: When do I want to make this happen?
Which of the following is an example of a SMART goal?
“How did it get so late so soon?” ― Dr. Seuss
For most of us, no two days are really the same. With so many tasks responsibilities and people around, it can sometimes be challenging to get things done.
Practicing time management skills can help you manage your overcrowded schedule better and finish your tasks on time.
If you search online for the best time management tip, you will probably come up with some great advice such as: Write To-do lists Use Time Blocking Wake up early Get more sleep Do the tasks you hate first Do the tasks you like first Do the hard tasks first Do the easy tasks first And many more. All these are great, but in order to choose the best one for you, you must consider some factors such as: the nature of your current job, the people around you, and of course, your personal preferences.
Which of these is NOT an effective way to achieve goals?
Setting and achieving goals is about staying focused on the journey.
Life happens and sometimes derails us from our goals, but it's important to get back up and remind ourselves about our goals and what we want to achieve.
Finally, Rome wasn't built in a day - it's every little step and every little action you take daily which will lead you to your goals.
And don't hesitate to ask others. Sometimes our close friends, family or colleagues can see parts we may be unaware of and be open to their feedback.
