As its name suggests, this course gives learners an introduction to electrical concepts like Kirchhoff's laws, circuit elements, transfer functions, active filtering, assumed states method, differentiators, and integrators. Across four lessons, learners will also develop a deeper understanding of operational amplifier applications and diode behaviors. All the topics are explained through video format with accompanying subtitles and learners can choose from 10 languages including English, Spanish, Arabic, French, and German. Each lesson also provides learners with reading materials, practice problems, and quizzes.

edX’s Circuits and Electronics 1: Basic Circuit Analysis is an electrical training course developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, intended as a refresher course for anyone working with electrical circuits or a crash course for those interested in electrical engineering and computer science. Some of the topics covered in this course include resistive elements and networks, linearity, superposition, digital abstraction, combinational gates, and small signal analysis. It also delves into different tools like virtual oscilloscopes, virtual multimeters, and virtual signal generators, which are all used to measure circuit variables. For  5 weeks, learners can access interactive videos, textbook readings, online laboratories, tutorials, assignments, and a final exam through edX’s online learning platform. Do note that learners must pass the final exam to earn a certificate of completion.
